I think most people can relate to the ideal of finding oneself or feeling higher, lighter when they are in love. I think this is where that idea of freedom comes from. You feel the emotions throughout the song which does a great job of connecting the listener to the lyric. Emotion is the one great factor when it comes to writing. People can always remember how a song made them feel.
